My Values

As I mentioned on the previous page, I’m a human first, queer positive, anti-racist and intersectional feminist and I lead from those values.

The “Hate Has No Home Here” image was created by Kingston based artist Hill Werth. Hill’s art adorns the windows of many Kingston, Ontario shops in a campaign to promote inclusivity, but also to let 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, and especially trans folks and all folks who face oppression and persecution because of who they are, know that they’re both welcome and safe.

I reached out to Hill to ask if I could put a digital image of his art on my website, and got their permission.

I did this for a few reasons:

  1. I love it.

  2. I want folks to know immediately that they are welcome to be exactly who they are [even if that shifts and evolves over time], and that it’s part of my core values as a business owner, and as a human.

  3. The current political climate is abysmal and we all need to be taking a visible and vocal stand against tyranny and oppression while also elevating and keeping safe the folks who are being targeted the most.

And if that doesn’t jive with you, we are probably not a good fit. [But I’m happy to have good faith conversations to explain why this stuff is non-negotiable.]
